Get Involved

Become engaged in your profession, network, learn, and grow professionally by joining one or more of our committees. Committees are always enthusiastic about new members and it is the absolute best way to get involved with the Sun Valley Board of REALTORS. To become involved in one of our committees, please email Amanda@SunValleyREALTORS.org for more information.

  1. Grievance

    The Grievance committee, as directed by the NAR Code of Ethics and Arbitration Manual, makes preliminary investigation and evaluation of any ethics or monetary complaint against a member of the Board.  Committee is charged with determining the validity and substance of any properly filed complaint.  It additionally determines whether or not the complaint warrants further consideration by a hearing panel of the Professional standards Committee.

    Service on this committee is subject to attending training classes every other year.

  2. Professional Standards

    This committee consists of a pool of members from which the Professional Standards Administrator selects panel members, in accordance with NAR’s Code of Ethics and Arbitration Manual, to hear matters of alleged ethics complaints and monetary disputes among members.  The panel members oversee Ethics and Arbitration hearings.

    Service on this committee is subject to attending training classes every other year.

  3. Forms

    Creates and maintains Sun Valley Board of REALTOR forms and ensures that they are in compliance with all state and national real estate laws.  Committee meets a minimum of one time each year upon new state legislation which is enacted each July.

  4. Technology

    Reviews topic relating to the MLS computer system and service, interviews and recommends service providers that will enhance REALTORS ability to sell, and reports on updated technology that can be utilized by the Board to keep current in the industry.

  5. Scholarship

    This committee reviews scholarship applications from local area high school graduates, interviews finalists for the scholarship awards, and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors on who scholarships should be awarded to.  This committee also attends scholarship presentations and awards the winners with their scholarships.

  6. Professional Development

    This committee participates in the new member orientation courses.  They may assist in scheduling or recommending continuing education classes, and may, on occasion, be asked to assist in developing courses to be approved for CE credits by the state of Idaho.  This committee also plans and executes informative and/or networking events and meetings for the general membership.  Recommends open house schedules to the Board of Directors.  Plans parties and schedules speakers.

  7. Government Affairs

    This committee works to improve the region’s quality of life, and thereby maximize the success and profitability of its members.  Provides knowledge, information, tools, and resources s in a timely manner to both the Sun Valley Board of REALTORS members and to local officials and staff in an attempt to positively influence public policy decisions related to real property ownership.

  8. Western Mountain Resort Alliance

    Western Mountain Resort Alliance is an affiliation of ski resorts in the Western United States including Park City, UT Jackson Hole, WY, Vail, CO, Steamboat Springs, and more.  This committee is our primary contact with this affiliation group and frequently travels to other locations to offer Sun Valley statistics and information.

  9. Nominating

    This committee is charged with finding suitable people to run for our Board of Directors positions.  They choose from members who have served on a committee for at least one year and selects candidates for officers and directors prior to annual elections.

  10. Election

    This committee, made up of three REALTOR members, counts ballots and audits our election process.  It also announces the results of our general Board elections.
