Renewal Requirements

Real estate license renewals in Idaho take place every two years, on the last day of your birth month. The following are the requirements for a standard renewal period:

  • Two (2) different IREC Commission Core classes (e.g., Commission Core 2020 and Commission Core 2021)
  • Please note, new Commission Core classes are released in July of the year they are titled after. If it is before July, you will need to take the previous two years’ Commission Core classes
  • Twelve (12) Continuing Education elective hours
  • These hours can be made up of any 12 hours of classes approved by IREC. If you have taken a class out of state or not approved by IREC, you can submit it for consideration, but there is no guarantee such classes will meet your licensing requirement).

 

Renewal Requirements

If this is your first license renewal after receiving your license, the renewal will take place two birthdays after you receive your license. The following are the requirements for your first-time renewal period:

  • Two (2) different IREC Commission Core classes (e.g., Commission Core 2020 and Commission Core 2021)
  • Please note, new Commission Core classes are released in July of the year they are titled after. If it is before July, you will need to take the previous two years’ Commission Core classes
  • One (1) mandatory, 8-hour course titled “Post License Fundamentals”
  • One (1) mandatory, 4-hour Post License Elective (there are a few choices that qualify, all will be titled “Post License”
